Privacy
Frontera Facts is a free website about El Paso. You can use it without an account. This page lists everything the site keeps, and who else sees it.
Last updated September 28, 2026.
No accounts. No ads. No tracking.
The site sets no cookies. It runs no ads and no analytics.
What you type has one job.
An address finds your neighborhood. A question reaches us.
Messages to us stay private.
We copy comments and emails into a private inbox, so we can answer them.
You don't need an account, and we don't ask who you are. The site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no ads and no tracking code. Like most websites, our web host can record each visit in its logs: the internet address, the page and the time. One of our maps remembers the last three measures you picked, so you can find them again. That list stays in your own browser. It is never sent to us.
When you type an address on the home page or the map, our server sends it to the U.S. Census Bureau to find its census tract, the neighborhood area it is in. From the home page, if the Census can't find it, we ask OpenStreetMap's free search instead. We save the address and the answer, so the next search for it is faster. We don't save who typed it. The address is also part of the page's web address, so it can show up in those logs too.
The "Ask us" form, on our About page and a few other pages, sends us your message. We save your name if you give it, your email or phone number, and your message, so we can read it and answer. We also save a scrambled copy of your internet (IP) address. It helps us stop spam. Only Frontera Facts reads these messages.
If you sign up for updates, your email address and the topics you pick go straight to Zoho, the company that sends our emails. They never pass through our server. Zoho sends you an email to confirm, and every email has a link to stop.
Some issue pages let you follow that issue with your email address. We keep your address on a private list, with a scrambled copy of your internet address, and we write to you when something changes. Ask us to stop at any time.
Our pages load a few things from other companies, so your browser connects to them directly:
Each one sees your internet address and which file your browser asked for. Mapbox also sees the part of the map on your screen, but not an address you typed. Each follows its own privacy policy. On some pages, share buttons connect to X or Facebook, but only if you tap them.
When you comment on Frontera Facts' Instagram or YouTube, or email info@fronterafacts.com, we copy it into a private inbox on our site so we can read it and answer. We keep your name or username, your message and the time. For Instagram and YouTube, we also keep a link to the post or video you commented on, and for YouTube your channel's ID. For email, we also keep your email address and the subject. Only Frontera Facts can open this inbox.
Our replies on Instagram and YouTube are public, under your comment. Replies to email come from info@fronterafacts.com.
We keep Instagram comments and emails until we delete them. YouTube's rules are stricter: we delete a YouTube comment from our inbox once 30 days pass without our inbox reading it again from YouTube, and we delete them all if we disconnect YouTube from our inbox. If you delete your comment on Instagram or YouTube, you can ask us to delete our copy too (see below).
We read Instagram comments through Instagram's tools for businesses, from Meta. We read YouTube comments through YouTube API Services, from Google; see Google's Privacy Policy. We read email through Zoho Mail.
Frontera Facts' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In plain words: we use it only to show and answer comments in our inbox. We never sell it, show ads with it, or use it for anything else.
You can remove our inbox's access to a Google account at any time on Google's security settings page.
Our meeting pages come from public records, like City agendas and staff reports. Item pages show how each member voted, and names from the City's staff reports, such as applicants, property owners, representatives and City staff contacts. If something about you is wrong, tell us and we will check it against the record.
This site is not meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Email info@fronterafacts.com. Tell us what to look for: the email address you used, your Instagram username, your YouTube name, or when you sent an "Ask us" message. Within 30 days, we will send you what we have, fix it, or delete it.
To stop email updates, use the link at the bottom of any email. To stop following an issue, email us.
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top.
